Sunday
I read this chilling article in Rob's copy of The Economist
This is what the world could have missed.
Monday
Rob is feverishly developing a plan for getting the house ready to sell
Zachary and I put Gigi in all of our "before" photos. Kind of like "Where's Waldo" only better because it is Gigi!
Tuesday
Zachary started pumping with insulin
He was excited. I was nervous. Everything is going pretty smoothly so far. Sometimes I am stunned when I realize that without his medicine, he would die within a week. I'm so grateful for medical innovations which keep him alive and improve the quality of his life.
Wednesday
My birthday dinner
Aren't birthdays awesome? Everyone is so NICE to you! Rob took me out to Papa Vinos. Oh My! It was so nice to indulge. I actually felt like a WOMAN for the evening!!!
Thursday
She seems happier every day
Friday
Studying Worldviews with Matt
Was anyone else as distressed over the whole health-care controversy this week? It was pretty ugly out there in the media/blogosphere/face book world. Matthew has been studying Summit Ministries curriculum on clashing worldviews. We skipped ahead to the chapters on Politics from a Biblical viewpoint and from a Secular Humanist standpoint. Wow! It really helped us to understand the viewpoints of both sides. The entire family had an interesting hour long dinner conversation on current events. Rob actually tried to download the 2500 page bill but read the 25 page table of contents and a 40 page summary off the net instead! He is one smart man.
Thanks for letting me know about your new blog, Shannon. I was wondering what happened. I'm so happy you're doing the 365 project. I love the picture of you and Rob -- your children and grandchildren will cherish it always.
ReplyDeleteyou are selling your house? where are you moving to?
ReplyDeleteoh, I miss papa vinos!!! and the house salad..and the bread...and the lasagna.....oh, I just miss it all!!!

That article sounds like a must-read. I just looked it up on the web. Think I found it...
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!!
Yeah, the whole health-care issue has truly gotten out of hand. So great, though, to have important, insightful conversations like that with (some of) your children.
Oh, man. I have pulled many a piece of wallpaper off the walls, and let me just say right now...there's not much in this world more TEDIOUS and frustrating than that particular chore!!! Sorry...
The world definitely would have missed out had we not been blessed with that smile!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to you! I remember feeling like such a grown-up when we had a night out without the kids. :)
Gigi is so adorable! What a blessing from God!
ReplyDeleteBTW - Happy Belated Birthday!
